Aaron is East Asian Studies junior with a focus in Japanese culture. This is his first year as a student leader and is eager to use his knowledge and experience gained as a previous participant. He enjoys all types of music, watching anime and MRULE “hopping”.

Katherine is an Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science – International Studies senior.  This is her second year as a student leader and looks forward to taking everything she’s learned as a participant and as a leader to work with non-profits to alleviate the effects of poverty on early child development.

Kim Rustem

Kim is a junior in Comparative Cultures in Politics in James Madison College.  She is interested in International Environmental Policy but looking at it from a more global perspective.  This is her first year as a student leader after being an active participant in MRULE for the past 2 years and she is very excited to meet so many new people.

Courtney Hurtt

Courtney is a junior in Comparative Cultures and Politics in James Madison College. She plans to work in the field of international development and education. She is actively engaged in “Friends of VVOCF,” the MSU sister organization to Vumunzuku Bya-Vana, an orphan care center in South Africa.

Robert King

Robert King is a Pre Law Political Science major currently in his junior year. After two years of being an active MRULE participant, Robert is now a first year student leader. MRULE has been very pivotal in Robert’s college and personal life.

Katie is a Senior in the James Madison program at MSU. She is majoring in Social Relations and Policy and Comparative Culture and Politics. MRULE is one of the most rewarding organizations that Katie has been a part of at MSU. She is very interested in the issues of structural racism and urban development. This is her second year as a student leader.

Amanda Williams

Amanda is a Junior in James Madison with a Social Relations and Policy major. She is passionate about social justice and aspires to have a career in the field.  She tries to make everyday an adventure. This is her first year as an MRULE student leader.

Austin Melcher

Austin is a Chemical Engineering Junior with a specialization in International Development.  He is interested in the application of alternative energy methods in countries around the world.  This is his first year as an MRULE student leader and he looks forward to meeting new people and making a difference in our community.

Joseph Robele

Joe is a Psychology Junior who plans to enter law school upon graduation to study International Law and Diplomacy.  He enjoys staying active, being silly, and meeting new people.  This is his second year as student leader, and he is looking forward to improving on his leadership skills and making MRULE an even more influential and welcoming program.

Crystal Martin

Crystal is a Nutritional Sciences senior in the College of Natural Sciences.  She became involved in MRULE through an organization called the Unity Project.  This is her first year working for the organization, and she is particularly excited about the role she plays in connecting the MSU community to what MRULE is doing here in East Lansing and in the world.  She recently traveled to South Africa with the  Race Relations Summer 2009 Study Abroad which has inspired her to be more directly involved in fundraising for and supporting VVOCF.

Raven Lewis

Raven is a biochemistry and microbiology senior; this is her third year working with MRULE. After spending two years as a student leader she is excited to work in a position that focuses on sustaining organization in more of an office role.

James Gardin

James studies Human Services and Social Work.  This is his second year assisting MRULE staff.  His love for music inspires him to find continual opportunities to use it as a tool for activism in the struggle for social justice.
